Martingale Collar Sizing Tips

Our martingale chain collars are sized based on the neck measurements when the martingale loop is fully extended. The collars themselves are also adjustable. Each has 5 sizing holes for the buckle, so you have a range of neck sizes you can set the collar up for.

For example, if the size range is 16-20 inches, the collar will open up to 20 inches when fully extended. Likewise, it will tighten down to 16 inches.

When using a martingale, you want the collar to fit the dog comfortably. There should be some slack when the dog isn't pulling and the martingale loop is fully extended. If the dog pulls, the collar will tighten to a firm, but not choking size.

For the best sizing, measure your dog's neck comfortably (not too tight). Pick the size range in which your dog's neck size fits comfortably.
